Someone has our join code who should not

A join code is full control of the household, including the power to switch its rules off. There is a remedy, and it has a real cost you should know before pressing it.

What is probably going on

Most likely

The code was screenshotted, forwarded, or read over a shoulder. It used to be permanent; it is not any more.

Check this firstYou know or suspect the code has been seen by someone outside the household.
  1. Sign in at /account and choose to replace the join code.
  2. The old code stops working the moment you do, everywhere.
  3. Give the new code to every device in the household — that is the cost, and there is no version of this that avoids it.
Cause 2

You are also worried about the dashboard, which is a separate credential now. Signing in is a link to your address; the join code no longer opens the dashboard.

Check this firstYou want to end any session that might be signed in elsewhere.
  1. Sign in and choose to sign out everywhere. Every session ends and each device signs in again.

Next door to this

I have forgotten the parent PINA device is not picking up the household settings

Still stuck?

Two doors, and neither of them is a queue you never hear back from.

Last checked 2026-08. Nothing on this page was written by a model — a made-up menu path is worse than no instruction at all, and this is the page somebody reads when they are already stuck.
