Before you start: A four-digit PIN.
Do this
- Open Profile → Parental Controls
- Set the content rating for that profile
- Set a profile PIN
- Turn on the option requiring a PIN to add a new profile
The settings that matter
| Setting | Younger child | Teenager |
|---|---|---|
| Content ratingCaps what the profile can play. | Junior Mode for under-7s | Set the rating deliberately |
| Require PIN to add a profileStops a new, unrestricted profile being created. | On | On |
What this does not do
- Live and sports content is governed separately from the ratings slider.
What people get wrong
- Leaving profile creation open, which lets anyone with the account password make a profile with no limits at all.
